I was assigned this aircraft at the 101st 2-17 CAV 1997-2001. I was doing an orientation flight with this aircraft on June 27 2001 when the engine flamed out at 300"AGL. I was forced to execute a very aggressive 180 Autorotation which ended with a severed tailboom and squatted skids. The aircraft was sent to CCAD for overhaul and returned to the battlefield in 2005, serving multiple rotations during the GWOT. Love this Old girl
