I was the crewchief on 514 from March of 1981 to April of 1983, when I was assigned to her on my arrival at Kadena, she was in pieces in a hangar, the reason she was there was due to a mishap on landing, her nose gear tire rotated (steering) 180 degrees on touchdown. I had previously crewed F-5E's at Nellis, by the time I got 514 back together I then knew Eagles pretty well, and she was a magnificent bird, I am so happy she is now at Hickam and still flying. Now if I could just find 78-0521, I crewed her on my second tour at Kadena.
