I picked up 78-0068 for the Reserve from the Active Duty at McDill AFB in 1984 and flew it to Hill AFB. My crew chief Jim "Pup" Simpson crewed the aircraft until it went to AMARC in 1994. I flew 068 in the "Gunsmoke '85" when the 466th TFS won the team competition. I also flew 068 in the "Gunsmoke '87" when the team placed second and I took "Top Gun" in the individual competition. 068 needed about a half click of left rudder but managed to place second in strafe with 98 out of a 100 fired. First was an A-10 obviously...
