This Eagle was transfered from the 555th (Triple Nickel) at Luke AFB to the Louisiana ANG in 1986 and flew with the unit until it was sent to AMARC in 1991, when the La ANG upgraded to the 1977 Eagle A & B models. 74-111 was assigned to the Green Flight and was an average performer. Our Avionics section had lots of work to do on these 73 Eagles, since the Luke squadrons were mainly training the pilots to fly them; many systems were not used during the time at Luke. The RWR and ICMS systems were non-existent, the radar package had many cable & harness repairs and/or replacements and the AAI/IFF systems needed overhaul. At our peak, we had 31 Eagles assigned to our unit (159 FW).
