This was the first airplane I was a ADCC on. Craig Lewis was my first crew chief. I was stationed at RAF Lakenheath from '84-'87. The biggest thing I remember about this jet was that it broke in the chocks (INS) the night we launched out to Libya for Operation Eldorado Canyon. It had more flight time on jacks than in the air. I also remember the main gear door wanting to play speed brake once on landing and not retracting to the gear door position. The F-111F was a very challenging aircraft to work on but, well worth it.
