This airplane is unique as it was struck by lightning at Dover AFB in the 1980's which resulted in one of the wings exploding. Because the C-5B program was running at the time, the Air Force ordered an extra wing, and installed it at Dover AFB. A Dover Flight Crew flew the Functional Check Flight on the aircraft, it was declared/certif ied "airworthy", and returned to the inventory. I will speak with the crew chief of that aircraft, and see if he can give you more insight.
