Was assigned to the 26th AMS in ZWEIBRUCKEN Germany 1975-77. This aircraft was assigned to the 38th Tactical Recon Squadron. It was equipped with the TEREC systems and caused quite a bit of maintenance trouble for the communications shop due to it having a very high airframe time due to Vietnam and it being fitted with special systems. Corrosion was the ultimate trouble. The entire aircraft was stripped down of anything that could be removed (86 panels + both E-seats and all cockpit guages) and corrosion control removed all of the corrosion. I think we zero-timed the airframe during this excersize. We finally got it fixed and after 2-3 test flights it went back to mission capable and flew on. I don't know its history after Zwei, but it had to be good.
