67-0162 was flown by pilot MAJ Don Allen and navigator MAJ Paul Bragdon in the 1974 Giant Voice/Giant Sword Bomb Comp exersize as "Apple One". The crew won the Farichild Trophy for PAFB, as well as the Best SAC Crew Award, and 1974 was the last year that each SAC base sent only one crew to the competition. Staring in 1974, Plattsburgh AFB won 4 Fairchild Trophies in a row ('74, '76, '77, '78). Apple One, and her accompanying KC-135 tanker "The Spirit of the North Country" were very well known planes around Plattsburgh in the mid 70's.
