Fini flight for the aircraft flown by Capt Steve Guzek and Capt Tom Donalds. Had to emergency ground egress after engine start on the first atempt to leave that day. Seems the radar circuit breaker was pulled for a reason (unkown to crew). Smoke started to come from the nose after power was applied to the radar. I think it was full of records as well. This was the first RF-4C to depart during the deactivation of the 16thTRS at Shaw AFB, SC. Local newspaper there to bid farewell and take pictures of us making a second (successful) attempt to start engines with the radar CB pulled (forever). Tom and I made sure our names got painted on the canopy prior to departing. My 1/48th scale model from the PI bears this tail number. SG
