I was the first crew chief of 148 when she arrived at Travis. We had traded off some of our high time aircraft to McCord for some lower time aircraft. 148 was a really good aircraft. We had very few problems with the aircraft in the time I was crew chief. The only thing I can remember that we had repeat write up's on was the radar. It was always working fine on the ground, the system never showed any problems, until the aircraft was about 45 minutes out, then it would fail. It's been a long time ago, but I still have fond memories of this aircraft. It is really to bad that they have to go, a lot of us put a lot of time and work on these birds. It's hard to say good by to an old friend.
