While serving as crew chief on 63-8080 at Tinker AFB in 1968, the landing gears were removed and a set of TEST Landing Gears were installed. Ten pallets of cargo was loaded. 63-8080 took off early in the morning and flew all day, stopping only to refuel. By the end of the day (late at night), 63-8080 and its crew had completed 90 touch and goes and 10 full stop landings. The cargo was unloade3d and the TEST Landing Gear was removed. The landing gear was shipped to the manufacturer for test results. The aircraft performed the task without a hitch. I have a couple of pictures of 63-8080 sitting on the ground that day and was very proud to be her crew chief and part of the task.
