As A new arrival to Dyess AFB in 1973, I was assigned to her as asst Crew Chief with Sgt David A Cottrell as my primary.

This ACFT was at Yokota AB Japan in the late 70's the crew chief had the instrument panel painted flat black. It was called the Coffin after that; until it underwent refurbishment again.

This plane was the first to receive the chaff and flare mod at Little Rock AFB. It was then assigned to the 53rd Airlift Squadron then re-assigned to the 61st Airlift Squadron. Because of it's unique tail number, it's nickname was "BOB" (808). The eight zero eight looked like the name BOB in the distance.
