The cockpit from aircraft 62-1818 is the core of the EC-130H Simulator built by L-3 Link Simulation & Training and assigned to the 42nd Electronic Combat Squadron at Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ.

I worked on that aircraft 3 years before retiring it to the "Bone Yard". I headed up the crew that dropped the four T56-15 and hung the T56-7s that are currently on it.

When AFSOC made the decision to excess the aircraft, the A4 community really tried to get the aircraft excessed to a base airpark or the Air Force museum. I've got to agree that it really is shamefull that the Air Force has not found a suitable home for an aircraft that has such significant history behind it. I guess it wasn't as sexy as a Talon 1.
