This aircraft was assigned to the 4950th test wing and was the first nkc-135a used as the zero G aircraft. In the late 70's or early 80's it was transfer to Edwards AFB and used on the winglit project.

I was assigned to the 6th ACCS as a pilot during the scale down and retirement of all of the aircraft. This particular tail number is the one that had my name on it. This aircraft was, at one time, the NASA aircraft for astronaut training and was called the "Vomit Comit." The aircraft was converted to an EC-135 later. The squadron deactivated in early 1992 after the last aircraft was sent to the boneyard.
