I was a crew member of 53-7800 at patrick afb from 1955 to 1957. All of the convair`s were new at that time we had six of them . 53-7801,02, 03,06,817. 819It,s been a long time so all may not be correct. At that they time they were used as passenger aircraft haulling people up and down the missle range. One I think 53-7819 had turbine generetors under the wings to drive all the testing gear aboard the aircraft. This arrangment didnot work so well because when the radars were installed their were blind spots out the left and right side of the aircraft. Nice engineering what.?
