This was the aircraft that I came home from Operation Desert Shield/Storm on. That was the day I met my wife for the first time. A little over two years later, we were married on the VMGR-352 flight line. '016 was suppose to do a Transpac, but knew she was supposed to be there for our special day. A mechanical malfunction developed, a real one, and she had to go back to home plate. She showed up just after my lovely bride walked down the aisle. It was a very special day and I was happy that she could be there. Quite honestly saved my bacon as I hadn't told my soon to be wife that she ('016) wouldn't be there for our wedding. Since my wife and I met '016 has been "her bird".
