I was a pilot in VP-46 from '01 to '04. I flew 913 one time. I did my FCF checkride in her (01NOV03). She and I both passed.

As a SS1 in VP48, I believe we called her the "War Pig" as she needed a paint job really bad, but was always a plane you could count on.

I worked on this aircraft during my time as an avionics technician in VP-16 from 1979-1983. It was always a durable and reliable aircraft - one of my favorites.

158913 was the 1st of the P-3C's VP-16 received new from the plant...probabl y late '72 or early '73...she deployed to Sigonella in Sept. of '73. VP-16 transitioned from A's to C's and deployed in only 9 months...I was part of the transition and that was my 1st deployment in a VP squadron...Lot' s of hours flying the "new" bird...
