This Buno is bittersweet for me. I was in HS-14 flying H-3s (86-89). We were on a CQ det on the USS Ranger when another of our H-3s struck the water with all hands lost Oct 04 1988. I spent a long night searching for survivors. I logged my longest flight in the H-3, 8.4 hours. We HIFR'd twice off the USS Longbeach before the flight was done.
