I maintained and flew in this aircraft with HC-5 Det 6 aboard USS Belleau Wood LHA 3 in 1995-1996. It was our sole SAR asset during the evacuation of UN troops from Somalia in 1996. We averaged more than 100 hours per month on this one individual aircraft. It was a great flyer and never let us down. Some of the crew chiefs were AM! Huffman, AM2 Gier, AE1 Aubert. Pilots were LCDR Scott, Lt Knight, Lt Gleason and many other dedicated pilots and maintainers that helped to make that cruise a success. PHROGS Forever
