During the first week of September 1965 I recieved a telegram informing me of my daughter's birth. Being at sea created a problem that by means of a friend I overcame. I got my leave papers signed and flew off the ship in that bird of one just like her. This was not emergency leave. Regular leave was very unusual while at sea but I accomplished it. Keanly AFB Bermuda to Andrews AFB then back to Langley. I got quite a ribbing about the transaction when I got back on the ship.
