McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet from the VFC-12 'Fighting Omars' based at NAS Oceana, VA.. VFC-12's mission is to provide Tactical Dissimilar Air Combat Training for US Navy, Marine Corps and other aviation units when required. Training provided by the unit includes Air Combat Maneuvering, Air Intercept and Radar Tracking, Air to Air Tactics, Strike Fighter Advanced Readiness Program (SFARP) and Fleet Replacement Squadron Fighter Training. Their twelve aircraft all carry very distinctive two-tone grey or blue color schemes with soviet style buzz numbers on the nose.
