Area 6

Description
Located on the West side of AMARC this storage area mainly holds Fairchild A-10 Thunderbolts in Type 1000 (airworthy) storage. Over the last few years a number of Boeing KC-135 Tanker aircraft and Lockheed C-130 Hercules transport aircraft have been moved to the northern section of this area, next to others of their type in the adjacent Area 5.




Visitor Notes
Good views of this area can be seen from outside of the base. When taking the Pima Tour sit on the right-hand side of the bus to get the best view of this area. This area is best viewed in the morning as in the afternoon the sun sets behind the aircraft making them difficult to read.
