Area 20

Description
This area is used to store aircraft belonging to the USAF Museum. Some will be sold or exchanged with 3rd parties to obtain aircraft or equipment required by the museum. Others will be used as display items around the US under a display program run by the Museum. These aircraft are typically loaned out, albeit for a long/indefinate period, and will be monitored by the museum to ensure they are maintained in a responsible manner.

Visitor Notes
Good views of this area can be seen from outside of the base. This area is best viewed in the morning as in the afternoon the sun sets behind the aircraft making them difficult to read.

Photo Notes
In the bottom left hand corner of the picture you can see a portion of Kolb Road. It clearly shows how the road actually runs a good 30 foot below ground level and the steep banks which rise upto the perimeter of the base. When visiting this area great care must be taken negotiating these slopes, especially as Kolb is an extremely busy road.

At the very bottom of the picture you can see the main bridge that connects the RIT area to the west side of AMARC. This bridge is used by the Pima Tour bus.
