Area 14

Description
At the end of 2001 a large number of F-4 Phantoms were moved from this area across Kolb Road to Area 24. As there have been no inventory updates since this time it is difficult to distinguish where Area 14 stops and Area 10 starts. Area 10 still contains many F-4 Phantoms and this area now contains F-14 Tomcats (along with a single F-4). Until the actual area split can be established for the purpose of this web site I will presume that the F-14's make up Area 14.

Located directly next to Kolb Road the aircraft are easily visible and readable. This area is best viewed in the morning as in the afternoon the sun sets behind the aircraft making them difficult to photograph and read.




Visitor Notes
Good views of this area can be seen from outside of the base. When taking the Pima Tour sit on the right-hand side of the bus to get the best view of this area. This area is best viewed in the morning as in the afternoon the sun sets behind the aircraft making them difficult to read.
