Area 18

Description
Located on the west side of AMARC this storage area used to hold a large number of aircraft and helicopter types. Most were being stripped of spares and were in poor condition. During the second half of 2001 these aircraft were moved to the very back of the area to make way for the influx of C-141 Starlifters that was happening at that time.




Visitor Notes
This area can be seen from outside of the base but it is very difficult to see any of the aircraft clearly and the reading of serial numbers is extremly difficult. When taking the Pima Tour sit on the right-hand side of the bus to get the best view of this area. This area is best viewed in the morning as in the afternoon the sun sets behind the aircraft making them difficult to read.
